Wednesday was the nicest day we saw for weather. I don't think I've ever been out to Victoria at this time of year when I've been this cold. Although, taking a look at our webcam, it was still better than home.

Well, I've had such a nice vacation that I've completely blown off blogging the last couple of days. However, several hours in the car took care of that.

We crossed over to Vancouver Island today as part of our annual spring vacation. In grey, cloudy, rainy weather we took the Tsawwassen Route. It's a prettier passage and there was much activity today.

For as long as I can remember, no trip to Banff has ever been complete without a visit to The Banff Book and Art Den. Unfortunately, that tradition is now at an end.

... in the final episode of M*A*S*H*, how did BJ have more points to go home then Hawkeye?

(and yes, I know that they didn't actually have a point system for US doctors serving in Korea)

Has anyone else noticed the sharp rise in telemarketers calling thier cell phones? It's starting to get to me. I'm also annoyed that while my email filter constantly lets in those stupid "investment" spams, it has blocked several ecard thingies that I'm too late to look at now that I've found them.

I never got into Facebook the way other people did. I had an account but didn’t really enjoy it, I deactivated it. I then re-activated again during the election last year. I waffled around with it again for almost a year and then deactivated it again for the last time just recently. I got tired of hearing about break-ups, deaths, illnesses and all other things that made me feel like I was reading a tabloid about my friends.

I’m afraid that there will be several more posts about Everest over the next couple of weeks because I’m just so damned captivated by it. I think that I might have figured out why though.

Evidently, “because it’s there” just doesn’t cut it anymore. I suppose I’m a bit behind the curve on this one given the immense amount of literature on the subject of Everest, especially in the last 10 to 15 years, but I’d never really thought much about the famous peak before.

Well, maybe not right away but it's looking like a good plan. I recently saw a show about the weather station at Eureka, Nunavut. Aside from all the great opportunities to wear my parka, I started to think about how six months up north might be a healthy option.
