Knocked Up As I was out for my daily waddle today, I was reflecting on the cult that surrounds pregnancy these days. Probably the most irritating part of said cult is the hype about how little weight mums-to-be are supposed to gain.

Let me start by sharing my own weight loss story. When I turned 30, I weighed 270 lbs. I did not sit on the couch all day and I was able to walk up a flight of stairs without wheezing and running out of breath. I know that's a big disappointment to all the people who like to stereotype fat people but that was the score. Until the spring of the year I turned 30 I had playing rugby for two years (not well, but I gave it my best shot). During the off season I trained at SAIT in the Peak Performance Program with the rest of my team. Aside from that, I also worked out at the gym 2-3 times a week. I could actually bench press my own weight at one time.

Knocked Up I've noticed that people feel the need to comment on my Mustang of late. Usually, it's along the lines of “so, I guess you'll be getting rid of that thing now.”

Um...no...actually.

Chantelle Rants Again, don't read any further if you haven't seen the season finale of House MD. Also, this miserable weather is getting to me so this one's a little dark.

Knocked Up ...one giant uterus for motherkind.

Seriously, what is he doing in there? It's like there's a tiny little marathon going on a couple of times an hour.

Unwritten Rules In any pseudo-archy movie, a guy wearing a fez will seem like a bad guy at first but always turn out to be a good guy willing to die for his beliefs.

Knocked Up Blah,blah...sustainability...blah, blah...corporate responsibility. I need a study break so it's time to blog. Eventually, all baby-related posts will move to the baby blog, to be named later (the blog and the baby). For now, this will just be another boring topic on this blog.

Sigh...

Chantelle Rants I can't live without my Blackberry. It's sad because it's another piece of technology that I didn't know I needed until I had it. Lately, it's been dropping texts and that makes me panic, I mean, what if I missed an important text or email about some Nigerian banker that wants to help me out?

Knocked Up After a bit of a nerve-racking wait, Evil Scientist and I received our amnio results yesterday. I would like to say thanks to the radiology people for getting these to us a week sooner than predicted! It certainly has cut down on the worry.

Although most of you who read this already know, I am happy to announce that I'm carrying a healthy, baby boy, due in mid-September.
