I'm not sure that I fully comprehend what has just happened to me or the seriousness of the situation. Not having ever been really sick, I'm just sort of playing it by ear. I will say that I have no intention of rushing my recovery. Too many times for minor conditions and illnesses, I've pushed too hard the second I felt better only to cause myself further injury or illness.

I thought that waking up from surgery was going to be like it is on TV. I mean, I guess intellectually I knew that that wasn't the case but I didn't realize that recovery had a whole procedure all its own. I thought that I'd be wheeled back to my room and gently wake up with Jason by my side.

Not so much.

Because I refuse to grow up and look like the middle-aged mom I actually am. Now where the fuck are my Doc's...

I was getting back into my blog, but then I fell into a Netflix coma watching Breaking Bad. I'll have some new stories soon.

Back to an iPhone today. It was a minimal upgrade for me. I think the most money I spent was on the case to protect it (I've had a bad run of cracked screens so I didn't dare leave the store without one).

Next... an iPad that I don't have to share with the boy. I think I'll stick to a regular size iPad although I do like the mini. It's nice to have all of my stuff syncing again.

I tried to kick my Mac habit but I can't say that I've been overly fond of my Samsung products. Hence, the first of my new aquisitions is a Mac Book Air. I couldn't be happier:

The above words were uttered 20 years ago by Nichol Kadler as we made our way south to Lethbridge from our home town of Red Deer. We were heading off to our first year of undergrad studies. I had only had my license for a few weeks so was not exactly confident driving my 1982 Datsun pick-up truck loaded with all my worldly possessions. Hence, I occasionally swerved when not paying as much attention as I should have.

Yesterday, I woke up with this obnoxious song stuck in my head:

I'm always happy when I realise that I've made it through the January and February. Today seems more like New Year's to me then New Year's Day ever does.

Thanks to James for a lovely evening. Not only did he provide a nice spread of food and drink, his impressive knowledge of the movies if helpful for someone like me that doesn't get to the movies to often.

Also, thanks for letting us bring the munchkin.
