Edging done. My technique is coming with the angled paintbrush but my ceiling took a few hits. I'm never going to hear the bloody end of it.

Washed, puttied, sanded, cleaned and taped. Now I actually get to paint.

I don't listen to top 40 which has the benefit of protecting me from crap like Nicki Minaj's 'Anaconda'. Unfortunately, it also means that I miss out on awesomeness like Adele and Amy Winehouse.

Friday nights seem like good nights for Amy... and maybe a vodka martini or two.

Also, I love this video. Who wouldn't want a bunch of brass players just hanging out?!

A friend at work told me to watch the new Nicki Minaj video because it was "basically a porno". How could turn up an offer like that? It was so awful that I'm posting some Nina Simone to get the awful out of my head.

My house was built in the 1970s. It has great, solid construction but lacks the aesthetic sense of a lot of the houses being built today. To be fair, I'd rather have a house that's not falling apart rather than a trendy mud-room. I also love the three-level split design of the house as well as the huge deck and backyard.

So aesthetics are something that need to be added. My Dad did a pile of work landscaping the outside a couple of years ago and added a little deck in front of the house. He also added a shower to the downstairs bath and later retiled the floor. He and Jason also added an awning to our deck, last weekend (not to mention a thousand other various projects over the past years we've been in the house).

Jason has been spending the summer on outdoor projects like replacing the steps on the deck.

Back to an iPhone today. It was a minimal upgrade for me. I think the most money I spent was on the case to protect it (I've had a bad run of cracked screens so I didn't dare leave the store without one).

Next... an iPad that I don't have to share with the boy. I think I'll stick to a regular size iPad although I do like the mini. It's nice to have all of my stuff syncing again.

I tried to kick my Mac habit but I can't say that I've been overly fond of my Samsung products. Hence, the first of my new aquisitions is a Mac Book Air. I couldn't be happier:

Watching 'Muppets: Most Wanted', Tina Fey's uniform is hot. I'm totally defecting to Russia once Putin re-instates the USSR. I've already stared my list of people for the gulag...

It's my little man's first day of kindergarten. Where has the time gone!
