Duxford Girl

Today's our last day here which is unfortunate because I'm finally relaxed enough to just chill. It takes me a long time to wind down. Here's a few thoughts and notes as I sit on the beach and enjoy the ocean.

All-Inclusive
Forget the free booze, they have Fanta grape on tap. I'm in heaven.

Working Cats
There are a number of sleek, young cats about the place. Some people seem horribly offended by this, forgetting that these cats have a very important job; they keep the rodent population down. I wonder if those snarky, non-cat people would prefer rats?

10 and 5
As Dr. House would point out, 10s don't end up being romantically involved with 5s. Unless of course, there's some underlying reason. Tall, skinny, beautiful, trendy blonde with large, sloppy, average joe; it didn't take too long to figure out the “why” on that one when I saw the size of the ring on her finger.

Swimming
I'd better get my butt to a pool regularly when I return because if I don't I'm going to be totally boned at the end of May. I went for a couple of swims in the ocean and barely made it 50 m let alone 10 times that. Oh well, I need to exercise like a mad women, anyway if I have any hope of getting rid of the rest of the baby weight.

Humidity
I like the hot, wet weather but it doesn't do me any favours. I swear, the only pictures I actually look good in are the ones at Dunn's River because the water is cool and I've shrunk to normal. In everything else, I look a million pounds heavier. I mean really, how much water can a normal person retain.

Sandals and Beaches
As it turns out, Sandals and Beaches are owned by the same company. Sandals is “couples only” and Beaches is for whole families, groups whatever. Beaches has water slides, video games, movies in the pool so you can watch a flick from a pool chair...should've gone to Beaches. You should see their teen stuff, it's awesome. I got all excited thinking about how wicked it would have been to come to a place like this when I was a teen but then realized that I couldn't have competed with any of the pretty, skinny vacationers (anymore than I can now) and that the whole experience probably would have depressed me. Having said that, in a couple of years we're totally coming back to Jamaica with Junior, the toddler program at Beaches is also amazing.

Droopy
As evidenced in most of the photos, my nose is starting to droop so much so that I'll soon look like a fairy tale witch (warts can't be far behind). Time for Botox!

Funny Smells
The first night we were here ES had to complain that he could smell something that wasn't cigarette smoke (he does this at rock concerts too). Really honey, you smelled weed? Are you sure because that seems unusual here...in...Jamaica. It's no wonder he never comes to Folk Fest with me.

I might add a few more tidbits when I think of them but that's all for now.
