Pump up the Volume My heart just wasn't in it this year. Frankly, if it hadn't been for Evil Scientist's foot firmly placed on my behind I doubt very much if I would have gone at all.

In spite of being rather sad all weekend, I managed to increase my music collection by 12 CDs and one LP. Here are just a few places to look for some of the great music I heard and picked up this past weekend:

The place to go to get ready for next Year:

Beautiful, beautiful voice and lyrics:

Winnipeg turns out some great bands:

I bought their album on vinyl, I love that:

Relatively sure I need not say more:

I love girls with banjos:

Said by the lead man “all music is folk music if it comes from the heart”:

Loved her lyrics:

Punk accordions and trumpets, awesome:

There's something so gentle and quirky about her:

Also of note this weekend was the first real test of my new Nikon D60. Check out the album:

Blue Rodeo closed with Lost Together. It's one of the few BR songs I don't listen to very much (not because I don't like it). Lost together would be nice...simply lost is hard.
