Now, more than ever, I want to fly as much as possible. I have goals in mind and the money to see them happen. Of course this means that everything else seems to be conspiring against me. Let's see, in the past month I've had lessons cancelled for the following reasons:
- high winds
- thunder shower activity
- broken magneto
- plane with not enough hours
- broken radio
I think my favourite is the last one because we got half-way down taxiway Charlie when, after several comm checks our radio getting worse all the time, we heard Ground Control say, “SMT, if you can hear this, exit X-Ray and return to base via Charlie.” Yeah, I think those are the most irritating cancellations because you've down all the boring walk-around, check-list, run-up stuff and now have to call it a day without ever leaving the ground.
My next flight is booked for Friday. Forecasts are for rain and thunder showers. What a shock.
