Why the *censored* is this *censored*ing thing *censored*ing edited I could do some more *censored*ing about why I hate my job but I think I'll move onto more positive ground. For your entertainment today I'm going to do what pilots do best...I'm going to talk about flying and myself.

I had a great flight today. I can even say that I “greased” a few landings. Today I did “pilot shit” and I did it reasonably well.

I've been reading a history of the Royal Flying Corps and has that ever put things into perspective for me. Those guys were partly nuts and I think must have had nads of pure steel. I had a lot of sympathy for them this morning when I was doing my walk around. There's a nasty, cold wind blowing from the west and it made things quite chilly. I didn't have gloves and as I unwrapped the Katana out of it's nose cover and wing condoms I had to think to myself that at least the freezing would end once in the *censored*pit. What a joy an 80 kt wind must feel like at 9000 AGL.

To my everlasting shame, I have had quite the battle with airsickness. Next time I am unfortunate enough to deal with this issue I'm simply going to remind myself that back in the days of the Battle of the Somme I could have easily been flying, airsick AND under attack.

I'd like to try an Immelmann turn someday but I think I'll save that for when I have a few more hours under my belt. I think it's possible in a Katana but I'll do some research first. I have often referred to my kite as a skateboard with wings but were I to somehow find myself back in time I would certainly have the most technological aircraft in the theatre. That would be quite the adventure, I'm not armed, as a rule when I'm flying so I suppose I would just have to outrun the Hun.

At any rate, I'm enjoying flying more all the time. Just in time to lose my job and not be able to afford to do it anymore.
