Actually the French were a little anal retentive about formal gardens as well. If you think of the gardens of Versailles to name just one, it gives you an idea. Having said that, it`s no wonder that Canada is really hyper gardening enlightened; although you`d never know it in our neighborhood. The lunar landscape personified.
