Another gorgeous day of weather as we headed east across the country. Less driving today and Simon, in spite of having very little sleep the last two days, was very good playing with his Ninky-Nonk most of the drive. However, on our way back to the camp-site after our unsuccesful grocery shopping trip to Winnipeg, he fell asleep and didn't wake up even when I took him out of his seat.

Outside of Brandon, there was a crop duster. This photo was taken on my phone so it's not great but it was really something watching the plane dive under power lines.

As reported on FB and Twitter, by the time we got to Winnipeg for groceries (at 6 pm) all the stores were closed! In principle, I think that this is a good policy on Dominion Day, but the Calgarian in me is screaming “what do mean everything isn't 24/7 here!”

Back at the campground, with Simon soundly asleep, we've had a leisurely night where I've caught up on school work and Evil Scientist has worked on his time-lapse project. The sky is clear, it's cooled off nicely, the moon is rising brightly and even the mosquitos aren't too bad. Surely we aren't in Winnipeg but the Winnipeg of another dimension.
