I can safely say after two weeks in the mountains that I've left the ranks of novice skier. My father no longer has to be ashamed that his only child can't ski. He can still yell at me going down the mountain but he'll have to catch me first (is it working Dad, are you going to come out and prove me wrong?). In fact, I even attempted some black diamond runs yesterday and did not too badly.

Unfortunately, my further development as a skier is going to have to wait for a little while. It's weird, because I didn't wipe out in any big way yesterday. I did push it though and kept trying to improve my work on moguls.

A smart person wouldn't “work” on moguls knowing that she has a weak knee. Sadly, this is me we're talking about. Not smart and Type A. Meaning, I never know to quit while I'm ahead. When I woke up this morning I could barely walk on that knee so my day consisted of xmas shopping in Banff:
