It all started about 14 years ago. A friend moved to an apartment on 10th Avenue and soon found that two blocks away was a Western-Chinese diner called the Lido Cafe. It became ritual and every Sunday the Lidonians met for breakfast. It cost $2.88 then and since most of the Lidonians were students at the time, that suit them just fine.
I started going in 1998 when I graduated from university and moved here. I have kept going since. The Lidonians have changed over the years but most come back for a session when they're back in town. A few of us linger and we're always happy to add new members to the fold. Inflation has seen our breakfast go to $4.88 but still, with gas at a buck a litre this seems pretty reasonable.

I've always wanted to have a virtual Lido and finally I have done something about it. When I am able, I will of course be at the Lido and recording these important and profound sessions. Names have been changed to protect the not-so-innocent but if you're an absent Lidonian you can stop in and see what you're missing on this site. Leave a few comments of your own and see what we listened to on the juke box for the week.

The only thing I can't provide is the breakfast bit but slap some bacon and eggs in the frying pan don't get your keyboard sticky with strawberry jam.
